Although I came along long after depression days, I did inherit from my grandmas the need to hold on to and reuse what might become necessary and handy some day. We hauled 3 pick up truckloads to the local landfill years ago from one of my grandma's attic... gallon vinegar jars from making pickles... Duke's and Miracle Whip jars... and a gazillion Parkay margarine tubs... and oh, let's don't forget all those Cool Whip containers! The man at the dump asked where it was all coming from! She was still living at the time, sitting downstairs while we were tossing her decades-long "collection" out the attic window unbeknownst to her.
Because of that, I wanted to make containers in my themed gift boxes as easy to repurpose as possible. They are just too darn nice to simply throw away. But I h.a.t.e. trying to get those damn labels off! So... although they do cost a bit more, the labels on my Aunt Dee Dee's Kitchen products are EZ PEEL! Yep... you can easily remove them without that goo stuff... and scrubbing till cuss'n to get that sticky stuff off. The "please don't toss" jars I use are great for storing pantry goods, snacks in the car and beach, perhaps keeping your craft rooms and workshops organized while being able to see what's inside... endless possibilities.
This is shared on cards inside the boxes you gift others, and recipients are encouraged to find ways to give them new life, then share pictures on my social media so their name is thrown into a jar for periodic drawings for a free Aunt Dee Dee's Kitchen goodie!
